| After hearing an entire week of hype on the local Philly/NJ news about a hurricane that didn't come remotely close to New Jersey, nothing happened other than some rain and a nice light breeze. Now today we were supposed to get some scattered showers and thunderstorms in the morning, and sun the rest of the day. At work I see some heavy rain but not much else. But when I'm coming back from work and I turn onto my street in my development, I start to see some bits of leaves on my street. As I approach my house, I see more leaves, and some small branches. Then big branches. Then treelimbs. As I approach closer to my house I see this crap: Little tree didn't have a chance:
Large tree uprooted:
Another large tree uprooted:
This street had a few trees all blown over:
Another shot of that steet:
This area was all messed up:

But luckily, I get home and see my Z still in one nice piece:
What was strange was that it went from being no damage at all down the street from me, to relatively heavy damage, then no damage again. And I drove around town and noticed that there was a clear swath where all the damage happened, a few hundred yards across and extending about a mile. That's when I found out that a small tornado had just passed through my town and over my house. WTF? This is New Jersey not the midwest.
